Ever wonder what itâs like to run a shop filled with international snacks, funky sodas, and TikTok-famous treats? Itâs not just candy and ramenâitâs shipping boxes, taste tests, shelf Tetris, and real customer convos that turn a regular day into a full-on snack adventure.
Hereâs a behind-the-scenes look at a typical day running InOutSnackzâwhere every flavour tells a story and every customer brings something new to the table.
âď¸ 11:20 AM â Opening Prep & Fresh Eyes
Before the door opens, the lights go on, the music starts (usually a feel-good playlist), and the first job is always stock check. Some days itâs a mad dash because a new shipment has arrivedâfresh drops from Korea, Japan, the US, or the Philippinesâand boxes are everywhere.
Iâm unboxing, double-checking invoices, and making sure products survived shipping. Crushed chips? Not cute. Broken ramen packs? Into the clearance bin they go.
đ§12:30 PM â Restocking Favourites (and Discoveries)
The early morning is quiet, so itâs the perfect time to get organized. I restock bestsellers like:
- Spicy Korean Ramen Bowls (always a top seller!)
- Mini Soda Cans from Thailand
- Gummy candies in wild flavours (like cola, lychee, or even garlic!)
- New arrivals for our Mystery Boxes
Itâs also when I try one new thing myself. Sometimes itâs a jelly drink Iâve never had. Sometimes itâs a random biscuit from the Czech Republic. You canât sell a snack you donât understandâand bonus, I get to discover personal favourites.
𤳠2:00 PM â TikToks, Photos & Customer Laughs
This is when I shift into content creator mode. I shoot quick skits, snack reviews, or âwhatâs new this weekâ videos. Sometimes I pack orders on camera, but Iâve also been getting into short, funny snack skits (even if it means talking to myself on camera... again).
In-store, the vibe changes. Curious walk-ins, regulars grabbing their favourite drinks, and sometimes the occasional âWhatâs the weirdest snack youâve got?â customer. (Answer: probably the dried squid lollipops.)
đŚ 4:00 PM â Order Fulfillment & Website Updates
Time to prep online ordersâbubble wrap, thank-you stickers, and a whole lot of careful packing. A lot of people order from out of town, so I make sure everything looks good and feels like a gift.
Afterward, I update the site: sold-out items, new snack photos, maybe a blog post (like this one!). Online and in-store donât run themselvesâeach product needs its moment to shine.
đ 7:30 PM â Last-Minute Rush & Close-Up Routine
Just when I think the dayâs winding down... surprise rush! Teens grabbing drinks, parents picking up candy for movie night, or someone asking, âDo you still have that thing I saw on your Instagram Story?â
At close, I sweep up crushed ramen crumbs (yes, it happens), count the till, and prep tomorrowâs to-do list. Every day is differentâbut every day is deliciously chaotic.
đŹ Final Thoughts: Itâs More Than Just Snacks
Running InOutSnackz is part retail hustle, part foodie fun, and part creative expression. Whether Iâm helping a customer find the perfect gift, trying to go viral with a soda reaction video, or just restocking shelves, I love that no two days are the same.
This business runs on flavour, fun, and a little bit of chaosâand I wouldnât trade it for anything.
