Understanding Date Labels on Imported Products
Most imported snacks and drinks from China, including brands like Pringles, Oreo, Lay’s, Doritos, Coca-Cola, and Pepsi etc, display a manufacturing date (MFG) rather than a best before date (BB). This is a standard practice in China, where shelf life is determined from the production date.
However, energy drinks are the exception, as they will have a best before date instead.
For your convenience, the custom label is translated from Chinese to English and usually includes the shelf life of the product. If a custom label is not present, look for a number with an arrow pointing upwards (e.g., 15, 12, 9), which indicates the shelf life in months. How to Open Ramune Drinks
Ramune drinks have a unique bottle design that doesn’t open like a regular twist-off cap. Instead, they use a marble seal that must be pushed in before drinking.
How to open a Ramune bottle:
- Remove the packaging around the cap.
- Take the plastic opener included with the bottle.
- Press down firmly on the cap until the marble drops into the bottle.
- Once the marble is released, you can start drinking!
Don’t worry—there are instructions on the bottle as well if you need a visual guide. Enjoy your Ramune!
